About Us

J. Kevin Stelly is a 1985 graduate of Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University in December of 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He sat for and passed the CPA examination on the first attempt in the summer of 1989 just prior to entering the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at LSU, from where he obtained a Juris Doctorate Degree in May of 1992.

Mr. Stelly has been a practicing attorney in the city of Lafayette since 1993 focusing his practice in the area of tax including estate planning, wills, trusts, successions, business formations, mergers and acquisitions and other commercial transactional work. He became a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist certified as such by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization in 1999. Kevin has previously served as a member of the Tax Law Advisory Commission to the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and, later served as the Chairperson of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.

Claire David Thibodeaux graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in December of 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Claire graduated first in her class from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May of 2021. While in law school, Claire earned the highest grade in the class in 21 of her classes, including Civil Law Successions, Civil Law Donations & Trusts, Community Property, Federal Income Taxation of Corporations, and Taxation of Partnerships.

 

Claire was a member of the Loyola Law Review and participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. After graduation, she was awarded the LSBA 2021 Civil Law Award for attaining the highest grade in Civil Law Studies and the 2020-2021 Faculty Award (I) as the graduating senior with the highest G.P.A.

Claire’s practice focuses on estate planning, wills, trusts, and successions.
